Information on the experience of party of iodized salt "Iodis"
In partnership with Government Joint Venture Company "Artemsal", 22.09.03 we experimented on a party of iodized salt "iodized with "Iodis concentrate" as iodine addition (degree Act of 22.09.03 Soledar city).
Direct after making of iodized salt, 3 analysis were carried out to determined the containt of iodine in form of iodide (standard analysis method of titration) After 15 minutes in the iodized salt, this method of iodine was not found. Unstable form of iodine that exist in "Iodis- concentrate" in insignificant quantity escaped, and the product remained with stabled iodine. Sample was brought to National Analytical Center in Kyiv where analysis of two samples were taken for the contain of iodine catalyst kinetic method (K.B. Yatsimirsky " Kinetic method of analysis Yu.Yu. Lure "Standard methods of analyzing water "Moscow, Chemistry, 1971, P154).
Every test was done in a room temperature condition after calcination
Under 1000C? temperature. The result was that after the boiling of the water solution, on 1000C. Results of these experiment is contained in the test report № 2272 of 26.02.2003. (appended), which confirmed the stability of the contain of iodine in the eatable salt despite the real extreme condition of the use of this product.
Conclusion:
1. Buildup trial party iodized salt with "Iodis" confirmed the possibility of iodizing of eatable salt with "Iodis concentrate"
2. Availability of iodized salt technology in Government Joint venture company "Arteomsaol" require more additional work.
3. It is necessary to adapt the new methodical analysis of adding Iodine in salt
4. Considering the many years of experience in the use of iodine product "Iodis" (water, soft drinks, bread, milk, etc) and the high percentage assimilability of this form of iodine (90% together with 15-20%, we think the production of iodine eatable salt with "Iodis-concentrate" on the level 10mg/kg is sensible.
5. We suggest that the use of iodized salt "Iodis" will not bring about induced iodine hyperthermia. This can be clinically proven.
6. This type of salt does not require waterproof packaging.
7. Extension of storage period of prepared product which is profitable for commercial and the final consumer.
Researchers and manufactures and makers of "Iodis concentrate" reckon that it is necessary to settle the production of dry iodine concentrate for table salt already with them on long time use. This does not require the change in production technology in all the factories which are producing iodized salt and improve to great extend the quality of the final product.

Government Joint Venture Company "Artemsaol" observes all new developments in the world of science connected to the problem of iodized
Salt and participates in research of new iodine agent, and new ways of mixing it with salt.
With the aim of making iodized salt, with new quality result of end products, must important with guaranteed of no negative effect , work was started on the technology of iodized salt on the bases of "Iodis concentrate"
Manufactures of the concentrate, International industrial concern "Yark-Kiev" and (Scientific Industrial Institute) SII "Iodis" with specialist of Government Joint Venture Company "Artemsaol" and Scientists "Ukraine Scientific Research Institute of Salt" initiated the experiment party.
22.09.2003, In partnership with Ukraine Academic of Technology, headed by "Iodis" LTD with the participation of all interested party, carried out experiment of iodized party salt with "Iodis concentrate"
The difference between this product and all the other iodine agent is that many atom of irons (J3+J4+,J5+) remains in the concentrate in the steady condition because of the realization of stronger acidity connections which explained its biological activeness and its assimilation on lower concentrates.
"Iodis concentrate" is certified and patented. It is supplied to over 10 countries in the world.
Manufactured party of salt is currently undergoing research.
Already results have been received from the Product Quality Control Center (Ukraine Scientific Research Institute of Spirit, Biotechnology and consumable products.)-Protocol №2272 of 26 September 2003, where it was defined that salt treated with "Iodis concentrate" and the former, at burning and boiling temperatures of 100 degrees C? practically did not lost iodine (J) in comparison to the control sample during the research process.
On received of stable result in preservation of iodine for long term, there is prospective of solving the problem:
- The use of high quality packing material paper and cartoon
- The use of iodized salt during conservation and termal treatment of products
- Over dosing of iodine i.e organism accepts iodine of multi atomic irons only to its required quantity. The excess is passed out through the normal means.
- Significant increase in the storage period of iodized salt.
Iodination of products with "Iodis concentrate" increases the cost of production by $0.06 (USD)/kg under the standard introduction of iodine, but because there is evidence of high percent assimilability of this form of iodine (90% together with 15-20% under the use of iodine) There is therefore the possibility of taking a decision for adding less quantity of iodine in salt which in its own allows for the reduction on the cost of production.
This is for the future, currently observations on the samples is being carried on. In fore front is the Clinical Research and conclusions of Ministry of Health of Common Wealth of Independence States (CIS) An independent International laboratory.
